Elixir Saint-Georges
Our Elixir Saint-Georges is the Domaine's muté wine.
At harvest time, we stop the alcoholic fermentation of some of our musts (juice) by adding wine alcohol from the estate. This wine is then matured for 9 months in Belgian wooden barrels (Rochefort forests).
Its beautiful colour is deep gold.
With its aromas of candied fruit, caramel, butter and woody notes, and a palate that's both tense and delicious, with notes of quince paste, tarte tatin, acacia honey and brioche, our Elixir goes well with both savoury and sweet flavours.
The Elixir Saint-Georges is the ideal companion for your aperitif platters, and goes perfectly with a fine plate of characterful cheeses as well as a range of desserts such as a delicious dark chocolate mousse or a hazelnut parfait.
Our Elixir Saint-Georges will give you a pleasant surprise in the kitchen, magnifying poularde with morel mushrooms, for example.
